Nach genau 21 Jahren hat Ivo Pogorelich mit ein wenig Hilfe von Matthias Spindler (Compofactur) wieder Studioaufnahmen gemacht. Es hat lange gedauert, doch das Warten hat sich wahrhaft gelohnt: Ein Traum wurde wahr!

Im November veröffentlicht die Klassik-Streaming-Plattform IDAGIO die neuen Aufnahmen.

Matthias Spindler, Executive Producer of Compofactur Hamburg (Germany), has selected the great hall of Schloss Elmau, a Castle in Bavaria (Germany), for the period of September 10th to 13th for the recording. I have used one of the three Concert Grand Steinway Pianos, property of the Castle. The piano technician was Rudolf Moser. The entire team has enjoyed the hospitality of Schloss Elmau.
Thomas Lang, Audio Engineer, is working as independent Sound Engineer for classical music for his own company Artis Recordings. He is also teaching as a Senior College Lecturer (Dozent) at the University of Music and Performing Arts (mdw) „Tonmeisterstudium“ Vienna (Austria) since 1992. He is also Head of Audio-Video-Center department which is responsible for public A/V-streams and media productions of mdw, University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, probably the biggest Music University in the world, an institution about to celebrate its 200th anniversary in 2017. Starting as „Singschule“ in the year 1817, the first instrumental teaching in 1819, then changing into the K&K Academy for Music and Peforming Arts Vienna (kaiserlich und königliche Akademie) in 1909 and finally becoming the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna in 1998.
Avedis Kouyoumdijan, Artistic Supervision and Recording Producer, Dean of Instrumental Studies, Professor of a Masterclass for Piano and Chamber Music at the Joseph Haydn Institute of Chamber Music, Early Music and Contemporary Music at the University for Music and Performing Arts Vienna (Austria). Since October 2016 Professor of Piano at the Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth in Brussels (Belgium). Founder and Director of the International Joseph Haydn Chamber Music Competition Vienna. More specifically Mr. Kouyoumdijan, who is also a colleague of mine, has in fact recommended to me to learn one of the works recorded this September, some years ago and has been helping me with my work ever since.

The recording of both Sonatas was produced in high definition (high resolution audio) and shall be available in different formats depending on the resolution level of each format.
